On Being More Intentional...New Tradition

I am not a planner.  I am not even very creative.  But....I have been inspired to be more intentional about the traditions my family and I have, because that is what most good memories are made of. 

So the day before Valentine's Day I came up with a new one.

First off, my hubby and I have never celebrated the holiday...it's just no biggie to us.  But, what I love about the Holiday is it is all about LOVE.  God is all about Love, Jesus said 1 of the greatest commandments is for us to LOVE.  So love is what we made the night about...Family Love.

I asked everyone in our house what they loved about each other, and then I wrote those special things on the back of a heart with our names.  Then I picked a scripture for each child and wrote it on the front and back of a heart.

 

 

 

 

 

Kent brought EJ flowers and the boys balloons.  I made a fancy dinner and we dressed up.

 

It really turned out very wonderful.  Some of us had tears with the lovely things we heard from others, and then Kent blessed the kids with their scripture.  They loved  it.  I definitely think this tradition will stay!
