Treasures

My kids are my greatest treasure here on earth....

Mo Mo in Mommy's Hat...ADORABLE if I don't say so myself!

My grown up EJ went to Sunday school for the first time and Daddy teared up. This is actually a pic of the second time she went, but she got nervous and didn't stay the second time, but for a 3 year old she is doing good. That same day she wouldn't stay for class she actually walked around the church with the big kids carrying her palm branches up to the alter, and then that is when Mommy started tearing up!

I am selfish, imperfect, and a work in progress....

I have been reading a book called One Million Arrows by Julie Ferwerda. I actually discovered this book from a recommendation on another blog and just knew I had to have it. It’s about raising your children to change the world, and not letting the world change your children….. I am only on chapter 3, but I would highly recommend the book.

So far I really love it. I am soaking it in, and praying I can do just that…..raise my God given children to help them discover and learn their purpose in God through Christ here on earth.

Ever since I brought Mo home in September I have felt this stirring inside; a need to be doing something…something only God knows what it is right now.

I say all the time life is not about me and my selfish desires; it is about my children. But, I need to learn that it is even so much more. God has blessed me as a wife, a mother, a nurturer, a want to help others, but I need to hone in on that at home more before I can do anything else.

I am so IMPERFECT! I fail everyday as a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend, a co-worker…everything. My little pea brain is trying to wrap around all these crazy feelings and thoughts I am having when really I need to soak in his word, get on my knees and pray and allow him to lead and show me his plan.

We all have talents that God has blessed us with and he is waiting for us to all play our part in his bigger plan.

I want so badly to do it, and my excuses for not doing it really are lame….

So there, I am admitting I need work…I always say I am a work in progress so now I know I need to remember and act on the purpose God has for me. I need to seek it, discern it, and act on it no matter how scary or crazy it may seem to me…that is Faith after all. What do they always say and I get to witness…. We need to have the FAITH OF A CHILD. Faith that is unwavering, unquestioning, pure, honest and simple.

Life here on earth is work and it is hard….the gratification is touching others who do not know of their salvation in Jesus and that our REST will come when we enter our heavenly home prepared by our Maker….the UNSHAKABLE KINDOM OF GOD

But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus- The work of telling others the Good News about God’s wonderful kindness and love.

It hit me last night....

Those who have adopted will know what I am talking about, but last night was one of those nights that I was flooded with emotion for Mighty Mo's birth mother. I am not sure if it is because today marks six months since we have been home, or because we are close to his first birthday or neither. It just always hits me when I least expect it, I remember many times with EJ too. I think of Mo's birth mother all the time, but last night as I had just finished giving him his bottle, and he fell asleep on my shoulder's it was all I could do to hold back the tears. I just squeezed him tighter as I held him and said a prayer for his sweet birth ma ma.

I can't imagine the huge sacrifice out of great love she made and hope she knows in her heart that he is loved and growing and just the most wonderful happy little boy.

This is one of Mo's referral pics. He only weighed 6lbs at 2 months old.

This is my handsome 20lb Mo Baby now.... LOVE HIM SO MUCH!

My Baby Turned 3!

Our baby girl turned 3 on Sunday; really hard to believe. EJ was so much fun this year for her birthday because she is finally getting what they are and all that. EJ's favorite color right now is blue. I mean seriously she is obsessed with it. She was even carrying around a blue hanger one day because she likes it so much.

She is also really into Cookie Monster, or C Cookie as she calls him. So we went all out and I made the cake and the frosting and my hubby decorated it. I think he did a pretty good job. EJ opened up Cookie Monster first thing when she woke and then we had a party with family later that day. It was a great day.

**Post Interruption*** Have to give a shout out!

I am posting this pic below only so you can check out my cool shirt! I love it for what it says and stands for. I love it because I helped in a small way to bring an orphan home, and I just love the shirt; it wears so great and is so soft. If you want to help a family with their adoption cost go HERE to Josh and Janelle's blog as I know they will be sending in another order soon. Or if you want to help my friend Gwen feed hungry children go HERE to their site. They will sell these shirts wholesale to families needing to raise funds to adopt. Just awesome to see what God is doing!

Back to EJ

I absolutely love this pic! The hubby and I were trying to unwind EJ before bed after her exciting day. You can see how well that was working.

The LORD is my light and my salvation - so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?
~ Psalm 27:1

This is my verse for EJ that I will put in a letter for her with more personal things, but I wanted to share it with everyone and ask for a prayer request.

EJ had her 3 year check up yesterday and on the way to the Dr. I told her she was going to an appt., but that there would be no pokies and etc. Well she got so nervous about the appointment that she ended up throwing up in the car when we were half way there. I felt so bad for her. Also in the last week she has been bringing up the "Gooyies" from her EKG at heart appt more than 3 weeks ago. I really think all the Dr. appt's and such are really working on her spirit and I ask for prayers for her. She refused to take a nap yesterday and then kept waking up the first two hours after I put her to bed last night really whiny and crying.

Thanks and God Bless!

10 Months Old!

My handsome chubby little man is 10 months old today! It has been almost 6 months since we brought him home and I cannot believe how much he has grown and changed. I can't even express how much I love this little guy; he is such a blessing.

He wakes up this happy pretty much everyday.

On our private family blog I left Mighty Mo a message that included this verse;

Do to others as you would like them to do to you.
~ Luke 6:31

Such a small verse that holds so much meaning. If we could all just remember to react with patience and kindness to each other, think of the effect that would have? Let go of our selfishness and react with kindness no matter what, even with the toughest "customer" who may never appreciate it, but may remember how you reacted. We all have things that go on in our lives and most of us let those things determine how we act. My challenge to myself is to not let these things rule and react the way God intended, like Jesus did when he walked the earth.

God Bless

Our Little Sweet Pea & The First Smiley Face

My Hubby found this costume the other day and just had to put it on Mighty Mo this morning. It was a costume given to us that has never fit the kids at Halloween time so why not now. I am sure when Mo is older he won't quite think it was as cute and fun as we did, but hey wez crazy like that...

Have you planted your spring peas yet? Get ready spring is a coming. :)

EJ loves bath crayons and bath paint and this Mommy does not mind the mess (partly because the hubby cleans the shower :) ), but mostly because it is so fun for her. Last night was a first and we had to capture the moment. EJ drew her first smiley face and she was so proud.
